Memories from Rattlesden
I have recently posted nearly 100 photos, news clippings and memorabilia from my grandfather's scrapbook of his service in the 447th BG at Rattlesden, England. Click here to see a small slice of our family history while Grandpa flew 30 missions on Ol Scrapiron during WWII.  Here's a second batch of photos as well.

I have added a page that features color photos taken in 1974 of the buildings and air strip at Rattlesden and nearby Stowemarket. I believe they were given to my grandfather by Ol' Scrapiron crewmate Gordon Todd when we all got together for the B-17 50th anniversary gala in 1985.

For those who are interested, I also have posted a bunch of B-17 photos from my trip to England (just a small portion of more than 1,200 photos taken at several British museums)

And check out the massive tribute I am building to take to the 447th BG's final reunion at Rattlesden during the summer of 2009.
